Advisers amid geopolitical uncertainty

At Ascente, we guide our clients through the defence and security sector’s often complex regulation.

We provide assistance across all areas that these different stakeholders encounter, as well as with the commercial and regulatory challenges in this sector. Our work in this area is led by Per Lidman, a former naval officer, who specialises in intellectual property and commercial contracts and transactions. Society is facing new demands due to geopolitical challenges, an uncertain and changing world, Sweden's NATO membership and constant technological development driven by experience from ongoing nearby conflicts. One aspect of this is the clear incentive for cooperation between the Swedish armed forces, the business community and the innovation ecosystem, all of whom share a national security interest.

"Collaboration and technical innovation are the watchwords in a sector where you can only plan up to first contact with the enemy; after that, it’s about adapting and finding solutions."
